PALS Basketball

The DPR Police Athletic Leagues (PALS) is a league coordinated and sponsored by Durham Parks and Recreation and the Durham Police Department for teenagers 13 to 18 years old. Teams compete from June to early August on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Walltown Park Recreation Center and Holton Career and Resource Center. The league accepts team registrations only and provides jerseys to all participants. This league is provided free of charge.

League Information

  • Boys and Girls, ages 13 to 18 years old on or by June 21, 2018; players may not turn 19 on or before June 21, 2018
  • League play begins June 21 and will run until early August
  • Games are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Walltown Park Recreation Center and Holton Career and Resource Center
  • Game times are 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m
  • Practice time and/or space is not provided
  • The regular season will be followed by a single or double elimination tournament


  • This league only accepts team registrations, all registrations must be processed through the league coordinator
  • Team registration: Registration has ended
  • All coaches must submit volunteer applications and background checks prior to the first game.
  • Registration is free and accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Coaches must submit a registration form and proof of age for each player on their roster.
