PALS Basketball

The DPR Police Athletic Leagues (PALS) is a league coordinated and sponsored by Durham Parks and Recreation and the Durham Police Department for teenagers 13 to 16 years old. Teams compete from June to early August on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Walltown Park Recreation Center and Holton Career and Resource Center. The league accepts team registrations only and provides jerseys to all participants. This league is provided free of charge.

Please note that all participants, including spectators, will be held to the standards listed in our code of conduct.

League Information

  • Boys and Girls, ages 13 to 16 years old on or by July 1, 2019; players may not turn 17 on or before July 1, 2019
  • League play begins June 18 and will run until early August
  • Games are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Walltown Park Recreation Center and Holton Career and Resource Center
  • Game times are 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m
  • Practice time and/or space is not provided
  • The regular season will be followed by a single or double elimination tournament

Registration

  • This league only accepts team registrations, all registrations must be processed through the league coordinator
  • All coaches must submit volunteer applications and background checks prior to the first game.
  • Registration is free and accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Coaches must submit a registration form and proof of age for each player on their roster.
