Eagle Scouts, scouting troops, faith based groups and other clubs or individuals interested in contributing a volunteer park or trail improvement project are welcome. Volunteers have also designed and installed structures such as kiosks, benches, boardwalks, and much more. Any project requires pre-approval by the department.
Applications for Park and Trail Improvement Projects should be submitted online, at least one month in advance of the desired project start date. We are excited that you wish to improve the park, and we want to work with you to ensure that your efforts leave a lasting positive effect. The appropriate DPR staff and if necessary staff from other City departments will review your project application to ensure that the project complies with applicable safety, environmental, and legal restrictions, that it is consistent with the overall design, use, and maintenance of the park or trail, and that the date does not conflict with activities scheduled for the facility. Once the application is reviewed and approved a DPR team member will provide you with the required guidelines and next steps for getting started on your project.
