Looking for something fun to do after school? We've got you covered. Join us for an afternoon of activities! From basketball and painting to park clean-ups and job skills training, we have a wide variety of things for you and your friends to enjoy. 

Who: All teens, ages 13 to 18 years old

What: Free, drop-in programming and activities 

When: Every Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Summer MyDurham Teen Programs


The fun will continue this summer as MyDurham is hosting free, drop-in programming and activities for all teens 13 to 18 years old from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, starting Monday, June 17 through Friday, August 9 at the following locations: 

  • Weaver Street Recreation Center, 3000 East Weaver Street, 919-560-4294
  • Durham Teen Center at Lyon Park, 1101 Cornell Street, 919-354-2730

From gardening, video game tournaments, indoor hockey, crafts, job readiness, and trips three days a week, we are sure you will find something fun to do with us this summer. In order to participate, teens must sign up for a MyDurham membership, which is free and can be completed at the Recreation Center upon arrival.

What is the "MyDurham" program?
MyDurham is a free, membership based, evening program open to young adults between the ages of 13 and 18 years old.

What times are the programs offered?
Every Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Where are the programs offered?
We have six community centers that are offering MyDurham young adult programming, including:

Do I have to come every week and stay for all of the programs?
Not at all! You and your friends are welcome to come and go as you please. Just make sure to check in at the front desk!

What types of programs and activities are offered?
We've got everything you can think of and more! From sports like basketball, kickball and hockey to job prep classes to crafts and dance lessons. There's something for everyone to enjoy!

How can I sign up for a membership?
It's fast and easy - go online! Visit MyDurham Membership to sign up. Don't have time to fill out an application online? Swing by the front desk before attending a program and they'll take care of you.

Are there volunteer and job opportunities?
Several of our programs include Park Cleanups and Event Setups - we are happy to sign off on volunteer hours if you participate. View open and available jobs.
