Durham Parks and Recreation offers a wide variety of programs for teens all across the city. Our recreation centers create individualized programming and activities with teens in mind. From having Teen Pool Party's to Open Gym Basketball to Off Site Field Trips, we've got something for everyone to enjoy. Not only do we have programming specifically tailored to teens, but we also offer free access to the fitness centers, aquatic centers, city lakes and more.
Interested in swinging by one of our fitness centers for the day? A daily activity pass includes general admission to indoor pools, drop-in exercise programs, open gym, and use of exercise equipment at any DPR facility. Have you heard the exciting news? Teens who are 13-18 years old are now able to sign up for a Youth GoPass and ride GoDurham, GoRaleigh, GoCary or GoTriangle buses free! We're excited to announce that several of our Recreation Centers are official Youth GoPass Pick-Up Locations! Visit us to complete your application and bring a copy of your birth certificate, a valid school ID, license or other government-issued ID as a proof of your age.

Durham Teens! Have ideas on how to improve your community? We want to hear what you have to say! Join the City of Durham for an official Youth "PB Jam" on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the W.G. Pearson Center, located at 600 E. Umstead Street.
What is PB? "Participatory Budgeting". This gives Durham Residents 2.4 Million Dollars to improve the community with one-time projects. Your idea could be voted on and funded by the city!
There will be free food, music, service hour opportunities and more!
Each idea gets you a $10 gift card and chance for your idea to become a reality! *Applies to the first 50 ideas, and only to Durham residents between the ages of 13 and 19 years old. Maximum two gift cards per person.
