The Durham Armory, located at 212 Foster Street, on the corner of Foster and Morgan Streets, is available for rentals for your community or private event, whether it is a fundraiser, concert, wedding reception, seminar, or family reunion.

Durham Armory 2023 Rentals

The Durham Armory is available to rent for weddings, meetings, retreats, parties, or other group activities. Visit the Durham Armory Rentals page for complete details. We are currently accepting reservations for 2023. For availability contact our reservations specialist at reservations@durhamnc.gov. Requests can also be made online by filling out the request form. You can also stop by our office to place your request or check availability. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. All reservations must be made at least 45 days in advance.

Durham Armory 2024 Rentals

The books for 2024 will open on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. This is our annual booking meeting. The doors will open at 8:00 a.m. and we will begin the process at 8:30 a.m. For questions, email our reservationist at reservations@durhamnc.gov or give us a call at (919)560-4355.

Parking

When renting the Durham Armory, parking for loading and unloading is permitted under the carport at the back of the building. Guest parking is available on the street or at the Durham Centre Parking Garage located at 300 W. Morgan Street. Tours

Tours are provided every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month, from noon to 6 p.m. No appointment necessary.

Rental Times

Sunday through Saturday
6 a.m. to 2 a.m. (minimum 6 hours)

The facility will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Parking

Alcohol Information

Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited except when permits to serve such beverages are obtained from Durham Parks and Recreation and/or the State ABC Board. Permits can be found at the ABC Commission website.

Events in which alcohol will be served are required to hire event security through the Durham Police Department. Renters are responsible for contacting the Durham Police Department to obtain information and to schedule officers for their event. Payment is due in cash, to the officer(s) at the beginning of the event. Renters should contact Officer Monte Sutherland at (919) 943-7370 to arrange security.

A certificate of liability insurance must be provided to Durham Parks and Recreation no later than 15 days prior to event. The insurance must show general liability insurance with an alcohol/liquor rider for at least $1,000,000, naming the City of Durham as an additional insured. The certificate of insurance must have an original signature covering the date of your event. Insurance can be obtained from any insurance company (Ex. WedSafe, Travelers Insurance, State Farm, etc.).
