Canceled - Stargazing Series: Quadrantids Meteor Shower
Tuesday, January 4, 2022
Due to the high water over the low water bridge and low temperatures in the forecast for tonight, the Quadrantids Meteor Shower viewing has been canceled.
The Quadrantids is a great meteor shower, with up to 40 meteors per hour at its peak. It is thought to be produced by dust grains left behind by an extinct comet. This program is late night early morning to align with the showers peaks. The thin, crescent moon will set early in the evening leaving dark skies for what should be an excellent show. Dress in warm clothing and bring a folding chair or blanket so you can sit back and enjoy the show.
